The best way to arrange a trip with us is to phone and talk to one of our volunteers

8:30am to 12:30pm Mon to Fri

Our services are in high demand. Please give us as much notice as possible.

Drivers are available Monday – Friday.

Weekend travel may be provided if a driver is available.

Our door to door service means we pick you up from your home and take you to your medical appointment. We then wait and return you to your home. We limit our wait time to 6 hours, however other arrangements may be available under some circumstances

We take the stress out of the travel arrangements.

Travel is available for local appointments in Tin Can Bay, Cooloola Cove or Rainbow Beach and to Brisbane to the south and Hervey Bay to the north and all destinations between.

Eligibility and charges

All drivers are volunteers dedicated to assist the needy, but they are NOT trained paramedics.

All volunteer drivers hold a Driver Authority governed by Qld Dept of Transport & Main Roads.

To qualify for travel you need to be 18 years or over and be a resident of the Cooloola Coast e.g. Tin Can Bay, Cooloola Cove, Rainbow Beach & Goomboorian.

There is a charge to cover administrative costs for running our organisation.

Queensland Health have a Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) that provides financial assistance for eligible patients to access specialist medical services not available locally – details available on the link above or on request from Gympie Hospital or contact your local GP.

WAIT TIME NO MORE THAN 6 HOURS FOR ANY APPOINTMENT
Due to concern for our volunteers, we are implementing a policy to limit the times they need to start and end to more reasonable hours and length of wait times. Appointments outside these guidelines should be rescheduled if possible. As always, we hope to provide the best service for both our clients and volunteers.
